Specialized Training
As an SMA certified Training Partner, our technicians have spent the past 6 years gaining expert knowledge repairing, commissioning and maintaining SMA inverters. This, combined with Mountain Ridge Energy Service Owner, James Windsor’s, 28+ years in the solar industry- have culminated in the creation of the Solar Academy @Mountain Ridge -a training lab designed to provide impact for site owners, operators and individuals to enhance their knowledge and on-site skills- with the ultimate goal to maximize power potential, decrease downtime, and contribute to the longevity of the solar industry.

As a SMA authorized service partner, inverter services include: remote support, on-site repairs, parts management, and preventative maintenance inspections.

- Initial Alarm Response (accepts calls and provides initial triage)
- Remote log-in and data analysis

Solar Commissioning
A well-executed commissioning process sets the foundation for long-term performance. We verify that every component of your system meets industry standards, is correctly installed, and is operating as it should. Our focus is on safety, efficiency, and getting your system online without unnecessary delays.
Maintenance Services
Ongoing maintenance is a critical component to caring for any solar investment. Mountain Ridge Energy Service will work with owners and operators to alleviate work load, using their expertise to identify failures, potential problems, and most importantly- repair solutions. Maintenance packages are tailored to fit individual customer needs and equipment.
Standard Preventive Maintenance Package
- String Testing | Open Circuit Voltage (Voc) and Max Power Current (Imp) testing of all DC strings.
- Visual Inspection | Inspection of PV modules and array wiring, mounting system, combiner boxes, wireways and conduit, data acquisition system, weather sensors, security fence.
- Tracker PM | Lubrication, operational test per manufacturer’s specification.
- Inverter PM | Check connections, clean enclosure and filters, check operation per manufacturer’s specification.
- Switchgear and Transformer PM | Check connections, clean enclosure and filters, check operation.
- Combiner Boxes | Tighten loose connections, check fuses, clean enclosures.
- DAS/SCADA | Calibrate DAS/SCADA sensors.
- Array Cleaning | Clean all modules using water and soft brush.
- PM Report | Report of all PM activities performed and recommendations for future maintenance.
Additional Preventive Maintenance Services
- I-V Curves | I-V curves on all or part of an array, at the module, string or combiner box level.
- Thermographic Inspection | Infrared inspection of modules and/or electrical enclosures, including inverter, switchgear, combiner boxes.
- Landscape Maintenance | Landscape maintenance of area around the array and associated equipment, including mowing weeding, clean-up, earth moving, tree work.
